Hired Hands
Nick can turn his hand to a bit of woodwork, when required, and produced the Hired Hands display based on recollections of home and work life for settled immigrants to the country. The display represents home life with a wardrobe on two sides and work life with a works locker on the other two, featuring photos from the 1960's and 1970's by acclaimed photographers Nick Hedges and John Bulmer.
The panels also contained memorabilia of the period as well as QR codes to provide internet access to personal recollections by Nick and John about their experience of living and growing up in the Black Country of Birmingham.
The wooden frame is collapsible, to be easily transported and erected, and features Foamex panels, designed by Nick, that were velcroed in place.
